Full re-branding programme for a merged law firm
When two of the Midlands’ best known law firms, Shakespeares and SGH Martineau decided to merge, they needed a new brand in the marketplace.
Known as Shakespeare Martineau, the merged firm has over 900 people across nine offices with a combined aggregate annual turnover of £75m.
SGH Martineau are an existing HTDL client and we had previously been instrumental in two re-branding programmes - in 2007 when Martineau Johnson simplified their name to Martineau with a full rebrand and subsequently in 2011, with a lesser re-brand when SGH Martineau was born out of a merger with city-based Sprecher Grier Halberstam.
We were briefed to develop a brand that represented the new business structure and built on the added value of the merger. The double plus symbol was developed as a simple geometric design that could be applied to other facets of the brand and marketing collateral using the exiting orange and black corporate colours of SGH Martineau with a contemporary font in the form of Gotham.
We subsequently created an animated video presentation to launch the brand internally, a full suite of brand and logo assets, Z-card brochure and business cards to be handed out at launch, followed by a corporate brochure.
